why is papier-mâché the trend of the moment?

Forward-thinking homeware designers around the world are adapting the art of papier-mâché into their designs in favour of other processes which are harder on the planet - and it's not hard to see why. This centuries-old craft using recycled paper and paste is celebrated for its sustainability, affordability and versatility.
It has been dominating interior trends in recent years and while I'm not generally one to jump on passing trends, I think this beautiful craft is important to hang onto. There's a reason it's been around for centuries!
Every piece is unique with one-of-a-kind texture and will add an artisanal feel to your space. Add a sense of history to your home and style alongside pieces with contrasting finishes for a more curated, layered display.
These are my favourite picks from our edit of papier-mâché pieces from our collection.
This handmade hand-painted papier-mâché bowl is a real statement piece. I love it styled on a sideboard or on a coffee table for an artful display.
